Scattered throughout the craft
village in the woods are several stages that feature ongoing entertainment. For your
listening pleasure there will be:
- Mountain music
- good ole' country fiddlin'
- banjo pickin'
- dulcimer music
- some great country singin' and story tellin'
Besides the ongoing demonstrations,
lectures and competitions you might decide to visit "Shorty's Barnyard", or take an old
fashioned wagon ride through the living history village.

Country Auction
On Sunday afternoons we will hold our annual old time country auction. It
features items donated by the artisans and craftsmen at the festival. This provides
you with the opportunity to bid on an item from your favorite vendor and at the same time
have some good fun! The proceeds from this auction are all given to local
organizations such as the A.V.R. Volunteer Fire Department, the local E.M.S. or the Seneca
East Public Library.
At the July festival on Sunday afternoon you can watch an old fashioned, Cival-War era
baseball game out in the meadow. There the "Grasshoppers" from Sycamore,
Ohio will once again challenge the "Oakies", a team of locals.
This type of ball game was truly a gentlemen's game. The rules vary slightly
from today's version. For example, there is:
- No sliding
- No bunting

- No stealing bases
- No leading off
- No swearing
- No spitting
- No scratching
- No consumption of alcohol
- No chewing tobacco
- No wagering!!!!!!!
Watch as "Meal Ticket Malone", the captain of the "Grasshoppers",
coaches his "hurlers" and "strikers" to a possible victory over the
"Oakies". This always proves to be a most interesting and entertaining
afternoon of baseball the old fashioned way!!!
